University of Oxford

Dr Zarina Muminova is GPI’s Advocacy Assistant; she holds a PhD in Education from the University of Edinburgh. Her doctoral research explored parental engagement in young children’s learning in rural Tajikistan, focusing on how families support early learning in everyday contexts. As an Advocacy Assistant, she supports advocacy and policy engagement to promote the uptake of evidence-based playful parenting programmes, including in-person, digital, and hybrid models such as Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) at national, regional, and global levels.

Zarina is originally from Tajikistan, she brings a deep personal and professional commitment to bridging the gap between research and policy, shaped by her own experiences growing up in a remote setting and parenting her two young sons. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, who often inspire and ground her work in real-life parenting practices.
