The Global Parenting Initiative was recently represented at the 7th Global Mental Health Summit by Nicole Chetty, Abigail Ornellas, Jonathan Klapwijk, Carly Katzef, Zamakhanya Makhanya and Shallen Lusinga. This event was held in Cape Town from 10–12 November 2025 and brought together experts and leaders from around the world to engage in critical discussions on the current state of mental health, with a focus on addressing challenges and exploring innovative solutions. The summit served as a step forward for meaningful change.
During the event, Jonathan Klapwijk presented on “Translating Evidence into Innovation Pathways to Caregiver and Adolescent Mental Health Through Engaged Response Parenting in Tanzania,” highlighting GPI’s work in strengthening family wellbeing through evidence-based approaches.
