Aya leads the disability inclusion analysis for the Ugandan Parenting for Respectability Implementation Science Evaluation (UPRISE). Her research focuses on risk factors and moderating effects related to violence against children with disabilities, and on generating actionable evidence to inform disability-inclusive programmes and policies in Uganda.
 
With a decade of experience working across low- and middle-income countries, Aya designs, implements, and evaluates evidence-based interventions for marginalised populations. She is pursuing a DPhil in Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation as a World Bank scholar at the University of Oxford, and has contributed as a consultant to Parenting for Lifelong Health on the learning component of scaling up parenting programmes in Uganda and Kenya, implemented by UNICEF and funded by the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children.
