GPI researcher Khaing Zar Lwin recently shared findings from the Parenting on the Thailand/Myanmar Border project at the Asia Research Centre (ARC)-UNHCR Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her presentation, titled “Co-design and evaluation of a scalable entertainment-education film intervention for reducing violence against children and promoting positive parenting among migrant and displaced caregivers on the Thailand-Myanmar border,” highlighted the power of culturally grounded, accessible content in supporting families in crisis-affected contexts.
The ARC-UNHCR Conference serves as a regional platform for translating academic research into meaningful, community-led action. It brings together scholars, policymakers, civil society organisations, refugee-led groups, and local communities to promote collaboration and capacity building.
GPI’s participation reflects our ongoing commitment to producing rigorous, responsive research that addresses the real-world needs of vulnerable populations.
