Wilaiwan (Pui) Pongpaew, a GPI Future Leader Scholar from Chulalongkorn University, successfully defended her PhD thesis on 1 December 2025.
Her research, titled “Effectiveness of the ParentChat online training programme to promote positive parenting and prevent violence against children in Thailand: a randomised controlled trial,” examined the impact of a digital parenting intervention designed to strengthen positive parenting practices and reduce violence against children.
The study was conducted under the supervision of Dr Piya Hanvoravongchai and Dr Amalee McCoy. Pui is pictured with her supervisor, Dr Hanvoravongchai, and examiner Dr Thanapoom following her successful defence.
This achievement marks an important milestone in Pui’s academic journey and reflects her commitment to advancing evidence-based approaches to family well-being and violence prevention.
