Professor Rumaya Juhari is a Principal Investigator on the Parenting within the Preschool System Study in Malaysia. She is a Professor of Human Development and Family and Child Ecology at the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
She has nurtured her professional endeavour in family studies and human development, specializing in marriage and parenting, and child behavioural outcome. Dr Juhari has been involved in research on marital relationship, mixed marriage, divorce families, fathering, parenting across life cycle and various ecological contexts. She has been actively involved in work involving child and family related policies.
In 2019, her research team copyrighted the Marital Health Scale, and she was involved in the development of three training modules on Fathering, Parenting@Work, and Grandparenting for the Malaysian Government. She has been involved in the development, piloting, and optimisation of human-digital playful parenting programmes as a local principal investigator in Malaysia with Parenting for Lifelong Health.
She currently leads an internationally linked research team focusing on online e-Positive Parenting to meet the challenges that come with the COVID- 19 pandemic, namely e-Positive Parenting Naungan Kasih Research and Intervention Program.
