Moa Schafer is a Research Assistant on the ParentText Optimisation and Evaluation in South Africa study. She is a doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford with a particular interest in the intersection between violence against children (VAC) and intimate partner violence (IPV). In her research she seeks to examine how parenting interventions aiming to reduce VAC can also help address IPV.
She holds an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation from the University of Oxford, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Glasgow. In addition to her studies, Moa has worked with numerous organisations including the WHO, UNICEF, and the Swedish children’s rights organisation BRIS. She has also been involved in various research projects and prevention initiatives in countries including Malaysia, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Jamaica, Sweden, and the UK.
