Dr Betty Okot is an Early Career Researcher at the Child Health and Development Centre (CHDC), Makerere University, Uganda. Betty participates in some of the GPI leadership meetings. She has extensive experience in qualitative research with growing interests in multi and transdisciplinary scholarship. Betty contributed to the recently concluded Parenting for Respectability (PfR) Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial, which was a collaboration between the Universities of Makerere, Oxford and Glasgow. The community-based Parenting for Respectability study targeted fathers and mothers to address violence against children, improve gender socialization, family relationships and other socio-behavioral outcomes.
