About the Role

The Department of Social Policy & Intervention is looking to appoint an experienced Programme Assistant to work on our flagship Global Parenting Initiative (GPI). The GPI is a multi-million-pound five-year project funded by the Lego Foundation with a vision that is bold, ambitious, and immediate: to provide access to free, evidence-based, playful parenting support to every parent, everywhere, so that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to help their children realise their learning potential.

The Programme Assistant will primarily provide administrative and research support to the GPI Head of Research. The role will be based in Oxford, and you will work closely with the teams in Oxford as well as with a range of international colleagues. The Programme Assistant will be a central member of the GPI team, with extensive amounts of independent work and responsibility within the project. You will gain experience working in evidence-based scale-up initiatives globally and be part of an international research team with wide policy and programming impact.

The Department is committed to fostering an environment of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Our family-friendly ethos allows for hours to be worked flexibly to complement caring responsibilities. Applications are particularly welcome from ethnic minority candidates.

The position is full-time, for a fixed term until 31 March 2025.

About you

You will have experience providing research and coordination support to study teams including organising. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently. Please see the job description for the full specification.
